Specifications include, but are not limited to: Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP or Department) isrequesting proposals from qualified and experienced firms interested inproviding consulting services to assist the Department in evaluating theDepartment's current Substation Automation (SA) System, design a SASystem architecture to accommodate latest technology for non-automatedsubstations, and the integration of new technology to our existing automatedsubstations. The functionality of Substation Automation is the use ofelectronic control, monitoring, metering, and diagnostics within the substation.The projected benefits are the reduction of capital investments, the reductionof operations and maintenance expenses, and the increase in utility revenues.Awarded consultant will not necessarily be prohibited from bidding on orparticipating in follow-on products, systems or services that may arise fromthis RFP, provided that conflict of interest rules and competitive principles donot prohibit such participation
