Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall provide supervision, labor, equipment, materials, maintenance and repair, fuel, traffic control and other incidentals needed to meet the requirements of this IFB. The work shall consist of mowing, debris and litter removal, sediment removal and disposal, vegetation control to include woody vegetation removal, eradication of invasive or noxious plant species to include kudzu, Johnsongrass, Japanese Knotweed and poisonous plants such as poison ivy and poison oak.; 1. Grass shall not be cut less than 6 inches in height to avoid scalping of vegetation on slopes and uneven surfaces.; 2. Weed trees and brush shall be removed to the ground at grade. Stumps shall be treated with herbicide at the time of cutting. Stump treatment utilizing herbicide shall be in accordance with the label and Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) regulations.; 3. Stormwater management basins, to include (detention, extended detention, infiltration, constructed wetlands, filter, bio-retention, sand filters, filter strip, grass channel, dry swale, wet swale, rock check dam and Filterra BioRetention systems, etc.) shall be provided with routine maintenance for an estimated quantity of two times per year: late spring/early summer; late fall/early winter. Cycle start time to be determined by VDOT. Contractor shall remove minor sedimentation/silt from ponds to keep low flow orifice, outfall, and inlet openings clear and functioning properly. If low flow orifice is blocked Contractor shall clear low flow orifice. VDOT reserves the right to adjust the number of maintenance requests up and/or down depending upon the actual requirements for each location.; 4. The Contractor shall be responsible for reviewing the areas, and removal of any debris or materials, removal of brush, and weed trees from the SWMB. Woody debris shall not be left in SWMB and removed from site. The Contractor shall not charge an additional fee for the removal and disposal of all generated and collected debris. Contractor shall incorporate this service into the unit cost per line item shown.; 5. Each SWMB shall be maintained by cutting all grass and the removal of all weed trees and brush from slopes and designated SWMB areas (including access roads/points) within the SWMB design area as defined by VDOT. This is typically to a tree or fence line. The end results shall exhibit a uniform appearance without the skips of uncut areas, neat and visibly attractive. All generated and collected material and debris shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be removed from the SWMB at no additional charge to VDOT.; 6. Stormwater management facilities that are fenced shall have all vegetation removed from the fence during each maintenance cycle unless other specific instructions are given by VDOT Representative. The base of fence shall be treated with a non-selective herbicide to help reduce regrowth of vegetation at time of service. Herbicide application shall be applied in a manner as not to cause erosion issues at the facility. All herbicide applications shall be in accordance with VDACS regulations.
