Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, and supervision necessary to inspect and provide necessary maintenance and repairs to the chimneys in Cabins 1-25 at Fairy Stone State Park per the following minimum requirements: A. General Requirements 1. An optional site visit can be arranged if desired. Please contact the Park Representative, Adam Layman, Park Manager, phone (276) 930-3927, adam.layman@dcr.virginia.gov to schedule. 2. Work Dates and Time: • Cabins 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 work must be completed prior to April 26, 2024. • Cabins 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, and 20 work must be completed during the period of May 1-15, 2024; however, should the contractor have availability prior to these dates during a time in which any of these cabins are not rented, work may be completed prior to May 1, 2024, if approved by the park. B. Scope for Services 1. Clean and repair all cabins chimneys and fireboxes based on conditions found during site visit. 2. Install stainless steel liners in all cabin chimneys. 3. Install flue dampers in all cabin chimneys. 4. Replace crowns in all cabin chimneys. Install new mortar. Set top-seal damper and seal crown and flashing in all cabin chimneys. 5. CSIA-Certified Chimney Inspection shall be performed for all cabin chimneys once all work is completed. Inspection report to be send the issuing agency. 6. Install replacement chimney caps as needed with expandable metal spark arrestors.
