Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, parts, materials and incidentals necessary to perform the soil stabilization, infiltration sealing and void filling services as specified herein. All labor and equipment shall be in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Virginia Office of Safety and Health (VOSH) regulations. His work shall consist of furnishing; boring; drilling; placing of tubing; pumping of chemical grout and appurtenances into the subgrade, while monitoring at the surface, to affect the stabilization of the subgrade, filling voids around and beneath the precast concrete box culvert and the subgrade and strengthening the subgrade to a degree that will support the traffic load and seal open joints of the precast concrete box culvert. All work shall be completed no later than June 14, 2024. A. GENERAL: The Contractor shall adhere to the following construction methods: 1. The repair material shall not be placed when the temperature of the subgrade material is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. The Contractor and the Engineer will perform a pre-repair survey of structure areas to be stabilized. Existing crack locations shall be marked. 3. The Contractor shall take the necessary precautions to prevent grout from entering areas such as pipes, culverts or other areas that may hinder the functionality of the roadway or drainage features. If grout enters these areas, the Contractor shall remove it to the satisfaction of the Engineer at no additional expense to the Department.
