Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. All sodium chloride (rock salt) material delivered to the City shall conform to the specifications outlined by the Virginia Department of Transportation in Attachments A and B of this Invitation for Bid.; 2. The awarded vendor will be responsible for removing any material delivered to either City storage location that is caked upon delivery or becomes caked within two (2) months of the date of delivery. Material which is determined to be unusable by the Director of the Department of Public Works (or their designee) will be rejected and payment for the material will not be authorized.; 3. The anti-caking additive shall be within the range of 50-100 PPM.; 4. All bidders shall submit with their bid package a Letter of Assurance on company letterhead affirming that all of the material being furnished to the City meets the specifications stated in this solicitation. Failure to submit such Letter of Assurance with the related bid submission documents may result in the bid being deemed non-responsive.; 5. All bidders shall submit their bid using Attachment C of this solicitation. ; (a) Sodium chloride shall conform to AASHTO M143, Type I, with the following exceptions: 262 239.02; 1. The sodium chloride content shall be at least 97 percent of the dry weight. ; 2. The moisture content shall be not more than 5 percent. Material with a moisture content higher than 5 percent is subject to rejection.; 3. When shipped in bulk, sodium chloride shall contain an anticaking additive. The additive used and proportion shall be indicated on Attachment C where noted.; 4. Sodium chloride may be tested in accordance with VTM-28. (Attachment B).
