Specifications include, but are not limited to: The intent of this service is to address adverse weather conditions in a comprehensive, proactive, and orderly manner that results in a high level of quality and safety for VCE and its customers. The Contractor shall ensure that snow and/or ice are removed from the parking lot(s), sidewalks, loading docks and entranceway prior to the VCE’s opening. The snow and ice removal shall be in accordance with Industry Standards for Snow and Ice Management Services. Snow/Ice Removal This is a quick quote for snow removal for VCE 8030 White Bark Terrace, North Chesterfield 23237 for the 2017-2018 winter season. Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, tools, etc. to remove snow and ice from the road and parking areas as directed within (2) two hours of the request, barring a declared state of emergency, from VCE. Vendor shall call the VCE representative 30 minutes prior to arrival. Plowing will begin before 2 inches of accumulation. No extra charges will be allowed for accumulation. The Contractor shall ensure that all personnel are outfitted with the necessary and appropriate OSHA approved personal protective equipment, such as goggles, ear plugs, and gloves. Personal protective wear shall be in accordance with the current OSHA/VOSHA specifications. The Contractor shall be responsible for the conduct of all personnel while on the work site. Anyone exhibiting unprofessional behavior will be barred from the work site permanently. Parking lot The snow may be piled or plowed to designated areas within the parking lot at the direction of the VCE representative. The snow and ice removal shall encompass all parking areas and main driveway entrance. Contractor shall take reasonable care to avoid damage to pavement, curbs, and plants. Contractor shall repair all damage at its sole expense. Contractor may need to apply sand in the certain areas. Sidewalk and walkways Contractor shall remove snow and ice from sidewalk, and walkways and uniformly apply sand (no chemicals) within the boundaries of the pavement surface. Contractor shall ensure that all ramps, doorways, and bridges are open and accessible. This work may be performed by small-motorized equipment such as snow blowers or by the use of hand snow shovels, etc.
