The Contractor shall ensure that snow and/or ice are removed from all parking lot(s), sidewalks, loading docks, and entranceways prior to the Virginia ABC Store location’s opening, twenty-four hours a day, seven (7) days a week. 1. Snow and ice removal shall be in accordance with Industry Standards for Snow and Ice Management Services. 2. In most situations, the Contractor shall immediately proceed with snow removal without approval from Virginia ABC when the accumulation of snow is at least three (3) inches deep, or if a Virginia ABC Store Manager or designee requests before three (3) inches of snow ; Parking lot grates and gutter drains shall not be blocked by piles of snow to allow for water to drain from the site when the snow or ice is melting ; 9. Eco-friendly ice melt chemical is required, but this requirement may be adjusted by the Contract Officer, depending upon conditions ; When removing snow (shoveling/plowing), Contractor is to ensure adequate room for wheelchair maneuverability in cleared walkways, sidewalks around the store, steps, ramps, all entry doors, or loading docks. All clearings must be wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs. 12. Hand shovels and/or snow blowers ONLY (no motorized equipment) shall be used to remove snow and ice from sidewalks and entranceways, unless prior approval has been provided by the Virginia ABC Store Manager or designee.
