Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The awarded contractor shall furnish all transportation, vehicles, tools, equipment, labor, and supervision necessary to perform the services. All expenses required to perform the services such as implements, fuel, or ice removal substances shall be included in the pricing. 2. Snow removal services should occur when the snow accumulates from two (2) to three (3) inches at the site. If snow accumulation exceeds three (3) inches and the awarded contractor has not responded to provide snow removal services, contact must be made with the VDACS Trades Technician or Facilities staff the same day of the snowfall with information on when the work will be performed. Snow removal services should commence no more than four (4) hours after contact has been made. 3. Snow shall be plowed with a vehicle or apparatus capable of efficiently removing accumulations of snow from driveways and parking lots. Snow shall be shoveled from sidewalks, steps, and walkways. The cost shall be included in the “Per Occurrence” price for snow removal services. 4. The Trades Technician or Facilities staff will contact the awarded contractor with instructions on when to apply ice melting substances. This can be requested as a pre-treatment before an anticipated storm or for it to be applied after a storm to melt ice on sidewalks, steps, and the parking lot and driveways. 5. The “Per Occurrence” price for ice removal services must include the cost of the ice melting product in the price. Any ice melting substances utilized shall be effective for the purpose and should cause as little corrosion as possible to hard surfaces and be “environmentally friendly”. 6. The area(s) designated for the accumulation of snow piles from parking lot plowing will be agreed upon between the awarded contractor and the Trades Technician or Facilities staff.
