Work shall be performed on an as needed basis on Interstate and Limited Access Primary routes in the Richmond District. 1. All Contractor equipment shall meet the requirements listed below. The number and type of equipment required is outlined on each bid line. a. Single Axle Dump Spreader and Plow Vehicles: Single Axle Spreader/Plow vehicles shall be equipped with snow plow minimum of eleven (11) feet in length, approximately 30 inches in height, and 1,800 pounds in weight, a chemical spreader with a minimum of five (5) cubic yards or equivalent material capacity, and AVL unit. . b. Single Axle Dump Plow Only Vehicles: Single Axle Plow only vehicles shall be equipped with a snow plow minimum of eleven (11) feet in length, approximately 30 inches in height, and 1,800 pounds in weight, and AVL unit. c. Tandem/ Multi-axle Spreader and Plow Vehicles: Tandem/Multi-axle vehicles shall be equipped with a snow plow minimum of eleven (11) feet in length, approximately 30 inches in height, and 1,800 pounds in weight, a chemical spreader with a minimum of eight (8) cubic yards or equivalent material capacity and AVL unit. d. Tandem/ Multi-axle Plow Only Vehicles: Tandem/Multi-axle vehicles shall be equipped with a snow plow minimum of eleven (11) feet in length, approximately 30 inches in height, and 1,800 pounds in weight and AVL unit. e. Supervisor Vehicles: Each supervisor’s vehicle shall be a pickup or SUV and be equipped with appropriate flashing lights and means of communicating with their operators. Four-wheel drive is recommended, with AVL unit.
