Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The successful bidder shall be responsible for beginning efforts to remove snow and ice and or spreading salt, sand, or ice melt at SVCC within two (2) hours of receiving a call for service from SVCC’s contact or designee. 2. The successful bidder shall remove snow/ice according to industry standards. SVCC’s facilities include, but are not limited to roadways, parking lots, driveways, parking garages, sidewalks, stairs, loading docks, building entrances, and plaza areas. 3. The successful bidder shall provide ice melt chemicals upon request of SVCC. Ice melt containing rock salt (sodium chloride) or urea shall not be used. 4. The successful bidder shall provide ice melt chemicals at a rate recommended by the manufacturer and in a manner to avoid excessive accumulation. 5. Snow and ice removal services shall be accomplished without impeding traffic flow on campus. 6. Personnel Requirements: a. The contractor shall have a designated representative (foreperson) at the site at all times while the contractor’s operations are in progress. The designated representative should speak and understand the English language fluently. b. SVCC reserves the right to reject any of the contractor’s employees who, in SVCC’s judgment, are not adequately qualified to perform the work. c. The contractor shall be responsible for the conduct of all personnel while on the job site.
