Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, fuel, supplies, tools, transportation, qualified, experienced operator(s), and supervision necessary to perform Snow Removal Operations to remove snow, ice, and other frozen precipitation on Primary and select Secondary Routes in Roanoke County including all intersections and crossovers, etc., as directed by the VDOT Contract Administrator or designee. Services included in this contract will be required on an on-call as needed basis, 24 hours a day from November 15th through April 15th of each year. Contractor’s equipment may be required to work night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.) or day shift (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) The shift assignments will be at VDOT’s discretion. All Trucks shall have owner provided plows, saddle tanks (except 1 tons), and chemical spreaders unless otherwise detailed herein. All DMV licensed Equipment shall be equipped with an Automatic Vehicle Locator System, with service activated, throughout the term of this contract, except Supervisor vehicle(s).
