Smith Mountain Lake State Park has 17 trees identified for removal. These trees have been identified for various hazardous conditions of the trees. The purpose is to remove them before any damage to the facilities or personal injury occurs. There are 13 trees, indicated with pink ribbons that are the priority and included in the main Scope of Work. There are 4 additional trees, indicated with blue ribbons that are to be bid separately and will be added to the award if budget allows. The trees will need to be cut, chipped to 12-inch diameter and logs above 12 inches in diameter, cut into 9’ logs and left on site. The stumps are to be ground to 2” below grade and covered. Chips/mulch from the stump griding are to be cleaned and moved to chip dump location. Any equipment used should have minimal impact to the soil within the area.
