SCOPE OF WORK AND SPECIFICATIONS: The Contractor shall furnish all materials, labor, equipment, tools, and on site English speaking supervision necessary to install riprap material for stabilization of the shoreline per Attachment D and APCO Permit. A. General Requirements: 1. Attend a Mandatory Pre-Bid meeting, prior to bidding in this program. All bidders must sign in to have their attendance recorded. The meeting will be held February 21, 2025, at 1:00PM at the Smith Mountain Lake Visitor Center, 1235 State Park Road, Huddleston, VA 24104. 2. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to verify any information, measurements and obtain any clarifications prior to submitting a bid response. DCR is not liable for any errors or misinterpretations made by the Contractor in response to this solicitation. 3. Submit all required documents. 4. Work Dates and Time: The work must be scheduled no later than seven (7) calendar days after receipt of award purchase order. Completion of work must be within the scheduled timeframes. 5. All services shall be performed, unless mutually agreed upon by the Contractor and the Park Representative, during normal business hours, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. TO 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, except for State & Federal Holidays. Requests to work on Saturdays and Sundays shall be approved by the park contact prior to start date. Crews will not be allowed to stay in the cabins while completing the work. B. Scope for Services: 1. Contractor shall remove all driftwood debris as well as any trees/woody growth from the work area and haul offsite. 2. Contractor shall remove designated trees at shoreline. All vegetation proposed for removal is to be bundled and sunk as fish habitat structures as described in Attachment F and Attachment G. 3. Contractor will lay new geotextile fabric to be anchored per manufacturer’s recommendations. 4. Contractor will lay approximately 460 linear feet of Class 1 Rip Rap, 50-150lbs clean solid rocks as described in Attachment F and Attachment G. Installation maybe done by barge or from shore and materials hauled in. Land access will be provided for site preparation work. 5. Contractors may store materials on site (meaning above the 800" contour), the parking lot can be used to store materials, but we ask that the materials do not block access to the gate, nor access to the playground, trails, shelter, etc. and that they are stored safely with minimal impact to the natural habitat or to visitors. Storage below the 800’ contour line as long as the following principles are followed. Materials must be stored safely with minimal impact to the natural habitat or the visitors. Construction and storage areas must be clearly marked with proper signage when working in a public right-of-way or where the safety of the public must be maintained.
