1. General The chassis is designed for use in stevedoring and transporting of 40 ft or 45 ft ISO cargo containers having a maximum gross weight of 67,200 lbs. in both highway and TOFC service. Legal maximum container weight is determined by regulations. The chassis meets DOT, AAR, TOFC, FMVSS, SAE, TTMA requirements and standards in effect at time of manufacture to operate in the United States. 2. Material High strength low alloy steel with yield strength not less than 50,000 psi are used for hot rolled I-beam and fabricated parts. 3. Fasteners All steel nuts and bolts shall be either cadmium or zinc plated to reduce corrosion. Bolts shall be not less than Grade 5 and nuts shall be lock nuts. Rivets for lights shall be stainless steel. 4. Overall Length Retracted Position: 40’-0” (12192mm) Extended Position: 45’-0” (13722mm) Nominal length measured from the rear face of the front bolster to the rear face of the rear bolster, not including bumper. 5. King Pin Location 30” from the rear face of the front bolster 7. Tandem Location 54” from the rear face of rear bolster top plate to the center of the equalizer 8. Rear Bolster Height 48”±1” from ground to top of the rear bolster @ unladen 10.Landing Gear Location The centerline of the landing gear shall be located 98" from the centerline of king pin.
