Specifications include, but are not limited to: The building at 410 Santa Barbara Blvd, known as the Special Populations Building, was initially constructed in 1992. Subsequent expansions were completed in 2003 and 2013, adding to its original structure. (See EXHIBIT A). Except for replacing some select fixtures, vanities, mirrors, and flush valves, the restrooms have never been significantly upgraded. This project will "gut" and update two sets of men's and women's restrooms (1992 and 2003), as well as one unisex restroom (2013). Work will include new floor tile in all five restrooms, new wall tile (48 to 60" up select walls, in all five restrooms), new toilets, sinks, urinals, restroom stall partitions, new grab bars and associated accessories like mirrors, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, wire frame shelving, etc. Drywall surfaces will be repainted, as well as select doors and frames will be painted or sanded and glossed. Some minor drywall repairs are needed due to drywall removal to access plumbing areas in need of repair over the years. The remodeled restrooms will conform to current ADA standards, and the contractor will handle all permitting (only a remodeling permit will be required) and inspection call in aspects of this project.
