Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. SPLASH PARK SEASONAL OPENING/CLOSING 1. Remove spray and feature ground covers as requested. 2. Clear feature lines pre-winterization and pre-season as requested. 3. Pressure-wash concrete decks as requested. 4. Inspect park main drains, drain grates, and hydrostatic valves. Provide a report on conditions of the aforementioned. 5. Inspect and provide a report on all aquatic filtration and disinfection systems. Provide a report on conditions of the aforementioned. Adjust/ repair where necessary to complete start-up. 6. Start park mechanical systems and inspect all systems to include filters, pumps and motors, piping, tubing, gauges, and meters. Provide a report on conditions of the aforementioned. Adjust/ repair where necessary to complete startup. 7. Start chemical feed systems and inspect all equipment including tubing, probes, controllers, and feeders. Adjust/ repair where necessary. Provide a report on conditions of the aforementioned. 8. Remove swimming pool covers at select locations as requested. 9. Make ancillary facility repairs as needed to pass State of Virginia Health Preopening Inspection. 10. Complete all preseason opening tasks and inspection no later than May 21, 2022. 11. Winterize filter systems. 12. Add antifreeze to systems as needed. 13. Box all chemical feed and loose mechanical equipment and move to storage. 14. Blow out and plug filter lines as needed. 15. Flush all chemical feed lines and tubing. 16. Complete final inspection when all winterization tasks are complete no later than September 30, 2022. Provide a report on conditions of the aforementioned B. SPLASH PARK DAILY SEASONAL OPERATIONS 1. Recruit, hire and train all operational staff to ensure park is staffed and maintained as requested during operational hours (Tuesday-Saturday 11:00am -7:00pm) 2. Provide additional staffing as required outside of operational hours due to rentals, special events, or additional offerings. Additional hours are subject to bipartisan approval between both contractor and The City of Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism. 3. Provide proof of aquatic operations and first aid/CPR certifications for all operational staff 4. Provide additional coverage as required if staffing shortages/call outs occur 5. Perform all operational maintenance, safety inspections and tasks as requested (Attachment E) 6. Complete necessary daily chemical readings and operations tasks as required by the State of Virginia. Provide a report on conditions of the aforementioned 7. Follow and enforce all City of Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism Splash Park operational procedures 8. Provide a safe and fun experience to all guests and members C. CHEMICAL/SUPPLY ORDERS 1. The City will provide the Contractor with operational level chemicals for the season. Additional chemical or operational supplies needed must be submitted to the Recreation Superintendent for approval and purchasing.
