Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Contractor (s) shall provide a key contact name and cell phone number of an employee empowered to make decisions for the company regarding snow and ice removal services. 2. The Contractor (s) must be on-call 24 hours, seven days a week for snow and ice removal services. 3. Services provided by the Contractor (s) shall include, but not limited to the furnishing of all materials, equipment, labor, tools, and fuel for snow and ice removal services as needed. 4. The Contractor shall assure that all application, materials handling and associated equipment will be handled and operated in conformance with OSHA safety requirements. 5. The Contractor agrees to ensure the availability and sufficient quantity of personnel and equipment. 6. The Contractor agrees that he and his employees shall observe and exercise caution and discretion necessary to avoid injury to persons or damage to property. All apparatus, buildings, grounds, appurtenances and furnishings shall be protected by the Contractor from damage which might be done or caused by work performed. 7. The Owner reserves the right to inspect work in progress as well as make final inspection to approve completed work. The Owner retains the right to suspend the operation of any equipment that is not efficient and in safe operating condition. The Owner retains the right to suspend any operator if deemed incompetent or unproductive. The Contractor shall replace the operator and/or the equipment within one (1) hour of suspension. 8. When pushing or piling snow, avoid areas such as fences, shrubbery, trees, posts, etc. that are subject to damage. To be familiar with such areas prior to the snow season, the Contractor should perform site visits of each location awarded. 9. Some equipment may require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the proper endorsements as required by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Contractors must be able to provide proof of license upon request. All items necessary for continuing operation of the private vehicle are the responsibility of the Contractor. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing a driver, fuel, oil, necessary lights, and maintenance to the vehicle. The Contractor shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations including but not limited to, VDOT, OSHA, VOSH, and EPA regulations. 10. When clearing parking deck surfaces ONLY rubber tip snow blades will be allowed to prevent damage to the deck surfaces. Wheel chains installed on vehicles and equipment will not be allowed on the parking decks. 11. Rock salt or large VDOT type equipment will not be used on ALL parking decks
