Specifications include, but are not limited to: supply de-icing road salt; Approximately 2,500 tons of Sodium Chloride Bulk (Road Salt) for de-icing roads may be used for the FY23 winter season. Since we have no way of anticipating quantities that will be needed, the quoted price shall be for each delivered ton.; 1. Bidders understand that the quote of up to 2,500 tons is only an estimate and not a guaranteed quantity that will be ordered. The Town of Front Royal reserves the right to increase or decrease this estimated quantity at any time. The quoted price, including freight, shall remain firm for the entire contract period.; 2. The Sodium Chloride shall contain an anticaking additive uniformly distributed. The additive and the proportion used will be indicated on the manufacturer's bid.; 3. All loads shall be covered with a waterproof covering to ensure that deliveries arrive in the Department of Public Works yard are in a free-flowing and useable condition. All loads will be subject to visual inspection while unloading. Any shipment deemed to be unusable because of excessive water, oversized material, excessive caking or reduced sodium chloride content may be rejected at the discretion of the Public Works Director.; 4. The vendor will be responsible for removal from the Public Works' storage building any material that is caked upon delivery or becomes caked within two (2) months of delivery. Material, which is unusable, as determined by the Director of Public Works, will be rejected and payment will not be allowed.; 5. The Town requires shipments of approximately 20 tons, delivered on dump type tractor-trailers. The shipments will be on an "as needed/will call" basis, for delivery to 800 Crosby Road, Front Royal, VA 22630. As the delivery area is accessed through a timed gate, deliveries shall be made between the hours of 7:00 A.M. through 3:00 P.M., local time, Monday through Friday. If needed, special arrangements may be made through P u b l i c W o r k s for after-hour deliveries. No deliveries shall be made on, Saturdays, Sundays, or holida ys unless otherwise agreed upon by the Director of Public Works.
