Specifications include, but are not limited to: 5.1Single Stream Recycling DOC ServiceThe Contractor shall provide all labor and equipment, excluding dumpsters,necessary for collecting single stream recyclable materials per the established service schedule, and transport the materials to a recycling facility.5.2Single Stream Recyclable MaterialsSingle stream recyclable materials include unsorted glass bottles and jars, aluminum and steel food and beverage cans, disposable metal pans, aluminum foil, plastic bottles, jugs and jars, mixed paper, and corrugated cardboard.5.3Single Stream Recyclables Accepted in “As Is” ConditionThe Contractor shall collect single stream unprocessed recyclable materials, including any deposited items that may be not recyclable or otherwise improperly disposed at the DOCs “as is, where is” condition. Recyclable materials shall be recycled and shall not be disposed by some other means such as by landfilling, or incineration, excluding normal by-pass waste and litter. At the time recyclable materials are collected by the Contractor, the recyclables shall become the property of the Contractor.5.4Glass Container Recycling DOC ServiceThe Contractor shall provide all labor and equipment necessary for hauling roll-off containers collecting source separated glass bottles and jars at DOCs or other locations in the County on an as needed (on-call) basis, or by a regular schedule as determined and established by the County. Contractor shall haul the material to the Fairfax County I-95 Landfill Complex located at 9850 Furnace Road, Lorton, VA 22079 and/or to the Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility located at 21101 Evergreen Mills Road, Leesburg, VA 20175 as determined by the County. The County shall make available all roll-off containers to be used for this service.5.5Recycling ContainersAll DOCs are equipped with County-owned 8CY front loading dumpsters exceptthe Lucketts Recycling DOC which utilizes County-owned 30CY roll-off containers. The DOCs also use 30CY roll-off containers for the collection of source separated glass bottles and jars, or for single stream recyclables needed to provide extra capacity during high volume events such as the Christmas holidays.
