Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. BASE FERTILIZER PROGRAM: This is the base maintenance program to be applied to all fields each growing season. Please provide pricing for each application and total for each field.; 1. Treatment #1 (to be performed between March1 and April 1) a. Fertilization – Make a dry granular application of a complete fertilizer (containing Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium) at a rate that will supply 1 lb. Nitrogen, .2 lb. Phosphorous, .6 lb. Potassium. A minimum of 50% of the nitrogen to be in slow release form from synthetic or organic sources.; b. Pre-Emergent Herbicide – This is to be applied in granular form. This can be on a fertilizer that meets the above specifications, or on an inert carrier. i. Any of the following products may be used at the listed rates: Barricade - .75 lbs. of active ingredient per acre Pendimethalin - 2 lbs of active ingredient per acre Dimension - .38 lbs. of active ingredient per acre; ii. Pre-emergent herbicide should not be applied to fields that are seeded in the spring.; 2. Treatment #2 (to be performed between April 15 and May 15) a. Broadleaf Weed Control – Make a spray application of Millennium, Momentum, Escalade, or other approved selective broadleaf herbicide proven to be effective on a broad spectrum of broadleaf weeds, specifically on white clover in a single application.; i. Apply Momentum at a rate of 1.5 ounces per 1000 square feet.; ii. Apply Millennium at a rate of 1.1 oz. per 1000 square feet; iii. Apply Escalade at a rate of 1.1 oz per 1000 square; 3. Treatment #3 (to be performed between September 10 and September 30); b. Fertilization – Make a dry granular application of a complete fertilizer (containing Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium) at a rate that will supply 1.5 pounds of Nitrogen, .23 pounds of Phosphorous, and .32 pounds of potassium per 1000 square feet with at least 50% of the Nitrogen in slow release form from organic or synthetic sources.; 4. Treatment #4 (to be performed between November 10 and November 30) a. Fertilization – Make a dry granular application of a complete fertilizer (containing Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium) at a rate that will supply 1.5 pounds of Nitrogen, .23 pounds of Phosphorous, and .32 pounds of Potassium per 1000 square feet with at least 25% of the nitrogen in slow release form from a synthetic source that does not require warm soil temperatures for release of nitrogen. (No natural organics, methylene urea, urea formaldehyde, nutralene for treatment 4.); B. OTHER TREATMENTS: The following are applications that may be needed on an emergency, as needed, seasonal, or on a designated premium field. Roanoke County Public Schools do not guarantee these applications will be made each growing season. Please provide pricing for these applications based on an as needed.; 1. Preventative Grub Control – Make a granular application of Merit Insecticide at a rate of .3 pounds of active ingredient per acre (80 lbs. per acre .5G), or Mach II at a rate of 2 lbs active ingredient per acre (133 lbs of 1.5%G). These applications should be made in June.; 2. Emergency Grub Control – Make a granular or liquid application of Dylox (Active ingredient Trichlorfon). Dylox 6.2%G to be applied at 3 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft. Dylox 80 SP to be applied at 3.75 oz. per 1000 sq. ft. These applications are anticipated in August and September.; 3. Aeration/Overseeding – Double aerate the entire field and overseed with a Certified Blend of 80% Bluegrass 20% Perennial Ryegrass (all varieties must be from the most Virginia Tech recommended list - Category 1) at a rate of 3 pounds per 1000 square feet; then drag the seed in with a flexible tine harrow.; 4. Post emergent crabgrass control – Use Drive herbicide at a rate of one pound per acre in a spray application. This application may be used on spring seeded fields that do not get pre emergent herbicide, and for late season crabgrass breakthrough.; 5. Broadleaf weed control – Weed control application only. Use the same specification as for treatment 2.; 6. Hi-Calcium lime – applied at 2000 lbs per acre; 7. Dolomite lime – applied at 2000 lbs per acre; 8. Gypsum – applied at 2000 lbs per acre ; C. BERMUDA GRASS TREATMENTS: 1. Fertilization – To be applied April through October; 2. No Mowing; 3. Winterization – No irrigation system Services; 4. Locations include: a. Cave Spring High School soccer field; b. Hidden Valley High School practice football field (inside track); c. Northside High School game field and practice field; d. William Byrd High School practice football field and soccer fields
