The County of Rockbridge, Virginia (the “County”), is requesting electronic sealed proposals from qualified contractors for the modernization of an existing elevator and related components, and to secure a preventative maintenance, to include on-call, contract in the Rockbridge County Administration Building located at 150 South Main Street, Lexington, VA 24450. The selected Proposer shall provide all labor, tools, parts, materials and all incidentals required and/or implied for the complete and satisfactory elevator including the interior cab. This will also include removal and disposal of equipment and debris from the premises, the supply and installation of new elevator components, updates required in the elevator mechanical room per the Code as mandated by the Commonwealth of Virginia, Information Technology (IT) requirements, and all other work necessary to provide a fully functional and safe State of Virginia certified elevator. All equipment and software must be non-proprietary. Work must include: - Furnish and install new elevator controller/selector system. - Furnish and install new elevator car operating panel with position indicator, pushbuttons, key switches, service cabinet, fireman’s service cabinet, ADA compliant elevator emergency telephone/communications system, and associated labeling, signage, and braille plating. - Furnish and install new elevator hall call stations with integrated position indicators, pushbuttons, key switches, fire service operation, and associated labeling, signage, and braille plating. - Furnish and install new closed-loop elevator door operation system and associated components. - Furnish and install new elevator hoist motor. - Furnish and install new (flexible) elevator brake coupling. - Furnish and install new elevator hoist rope brake system. - Furnish and install new elevator hoist way limit switches. - Furnish and install new elevator pit area lighting. - Furnish and install new piping, wiring, and ducting, as needed. - Test, permit, and inspect, as required.
