a. The Contractor shall be able to furnish, to the Department, light, medium, heavy and/or as listed below, for each lot bid, with experienced operators. The equipment shall be capable of assisting and/or moving Class 1Light Duty (6,000lbs or less GVW-4 tires) through Class 8 Heavy Duty (33,001lbs or less GVW- 10 tires or more) vehicles from the travel lanes. Vehicles shall be relocated off of the travel portion of the roadway in a safe location. In most cases, vehicles will not be towed to a storage location. Lot 1 - Botetourt: The Contractor shall supply a minimum of two (2) light duty wreckers rated up to 8,000 pounds, two (2) medium duty wreckers rated up to 26,000 pounds and two (2) heavy duty wreckers rated over 26,000 pounds. Lot 2 - Roanoke: The Contractor shall supply a minimum of two (2) light duty wreckers rated up to 8,000 pounds, two (2) medium duty wreckers rated up to 26,000 pounds and two (2) heavy duty wreckers rated over 26,000 pounds. Lot 3 - Montgomery: The Contractor shall supply a minimum of two (2) light duty wreckers rated up to 8,000 pounds, two (2) medium duty wreckers rated up to 26,000 pounds and two (2) heavy duty wreckers rated over 26,000 pounds. Lot 4 - Pulaski: The Contractor shall supply a minimum of two (2) light duty wreckers rated up to 8,000 pounds, two (2) medium duty wreckers rated up to 26,000 pounds and two (2) heavy duty wreckers rated over 26,000 pounds. Lot 5 - Carroll: The Contractor shall supply a minimum of two (2) medium duty wreckers rated up to 26,000 pounds and two (2) heavy duty wreckers rated over 26,000 pounds. Note: A roll back maybe used in place of a wrecker provided it meets the required rating. b. Services requested under this contract are primarily to assist and/or move vehicles that are stuck or otherwise impeding the flow of traffic from the roadway during winter weather events; however, these services may be requested to assist during other events as determined by VDOT. Note: Towing as a result of an accident will be handled by the State Police and will not be covered by this contract. c. Equipment furnished shall be solely dedicated to VDOT for the entire event beginning from the time VDOT requests the equipment to be in place until equipment is released by VDOT. While performing duties under this Contract, the Contractor shall not perform or offer to perform any operations at the direction of any private individuals or corporations, using equipment being utilized under this contract. d. The Contractor shall bill VDOT at the hourly rate listed on the price schedule. Contractor shall not bill vehicle owner nor any other party for any charges associated with work performed while working under this agreement. e. Bid Price: The bid price shall include the hourly rate for the wrecker and shall include the operator, fuel and all associated expenses including but not limited to; profit, direct and indirect costs, administrative cost, equipment and personnel transportation, cellular phones, pagers, hand-held radios and cost for mobilization. Travel time will not be paid separately. Travel costs shall be incorporated into the hourly bid rate. Hourly rates shall be quoted in whole dollars only.
