Specifications include, but are not limited to: Successful bidder shall be responsible for providing all labor, supervision, equipment, and incidentals to provide services as herein defined to remove accumulated snow from parking lots and drives. Successful bidder shall be responsible for beginning efforts to remove snow within two (2) hours of receiving a call for service from the Contract Administrator or his/her designee. Snow removal will be on a priority schedule as defined below. The Successful bidder shall provide to WCC phone numbers that the Contractor agrees to answer 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week. The Successful bidder agrees to perform services Sunday through Saturday, as needed by WCC. Should the Governor of Virginia issue a declaration of emergency that affects the Wytheville area, the successful bidder shall not be held to the two (2) hour arrival commitment, but shall not respond, under any circumstance, longer than four (4) hours from receiving a call for service from the Contract Administrator or his/her designee. WCC is a state agency and will observe most of the state’s designated holidays that will occur during the term of this contract. The Contract Administrator will advise the Contractor of those holidays that service will not be required however, service may be requested on a holiday to prepare campus for next scheduled class day. Snow and ice removal services shall be accomplished without impeding traffic flow on campus. All snow removal shall be performed in a safe workman-like manner to protect removal workers, pedestrians, and vehicular traffic. If safety barriers, traffic control, or similar equipment is used by Contractor it is the responsibility of the Contractor to provide, to deploy and to remove such items when work is complete.
