Specifications include, but are not limited to: 12.3.3. Mowing grass such that length does not exceed 4½ inches at all locations between March 1 and November 30 except for special requirements for the athletic fields at the Manassas Park High School (separate work description) – lump sum for each site for each contract year, billed monthly. 12.3.4. Trim weeds along curb line. 12.3.5. Remove and dispose of nominal litter in mowing areas and along curb lines. 12.4. Landscaping and Tree Services – City sites 12.4.1. Lump sum per site for each contract year. 12.4.2. Spring Maintenance - work to be completed prior to beginning seasonal mowing operations: 12.4.3. Remove landscape debris that has accumulated over the preceding winter months, including litter, minor sticks, and minor accumulations of leaves. 12.4.4. Prune ornamental trees and shrubs to remove dead and damaged wood and foliage to a height accessible from the ground with the aid of a pole pruner (approximately 20 feet). 12.4.5. Trim perennials and ornamental grasses to remove expired growth and encourage unencumbered spring growth. 12.4.6. Turn existing mulch to aid in the decomposition of older material. 12.4.7. The following services will be completed before May 31st: 12.4.7.1. Re-define the edges or boundaries of all previously mulched ornamental trees, shrubs, flower beds, and tree rings by cutting a ninety-degree (90°) angle in border soil to a depth of three (3) inches. 12.4.7.2. Remove weeds from all beds and tree rings. 12.4.7.3. Apply an industry-standard quantity of premium landscape mulch, so that all beds and tree rings are neat and attractive and contain no more than three (3) inches of mulch (by measurement of depth).
