The scope for a new system can be placed in the following categories: 1. An intuitive interface for VDOE staff to manage provider programs and data; 2. An intuitive “mobile” application that can be used on a portable device, without internet connectivity, by VDOE staff to collect information related to an on-site inspection; 3. Public access, via a website, to non-confidential child care provider information in such a way that meets Federal requirements; 4. A robust report tool; 5. Ability for connectivity with other Commonwealth of Virginia systems and allow for future upgrades and enhancements; 6. A child care provider “portal” where a provider can upload and manage their own information; and 7. A comprehensive “system” that enables VDOE staff, child care providers, and child care staff, to work together seamlessly to: a. Ensure the safety of children through regulatory compliance, b. Decrease the amount of time it takes to conduct the administration of child care and inspection/regulatory process. The scope of work shall include addressing all the requirements covered in Section 3 “REQUIREMENTS.”
