1. The Contractor should: • Provide flight instruction tailored to the FAA Private Pilot Certificate requirements (14 CFR Part 61), including dual flight training and solo flights. • Provide supplemental ground school sessions focused on practical application of aeronautical knowledge in relation to ongoing flight training. • Prepare the student for the FAA practical test (checkride) by ensuring readiness per the FAA Airman Certification Standards (ACS). • Ensure training aligns with FAA regulations and best practices. • Assist with the coordination and scheduling of the FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) for the student’s practical test, including facilitating communication and ensuring all prerequisites for the checkride are met. 2. Instructor Qualifications: • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) in good standing with a valid FAA certificate. • Demonstrated experience training Private Pilot candidates and a documented record of safe instructional practices. 3. Aircraft Requirements: • Aircraft suitable for Private Pilot training (e.g., Cessna 172 or equivalent). • Airworthy, well-maintained and available as needed to meet the student pilot’s training schedule availability. • Aircraft must meet all FAA airworthiness standards, with maintenance logs available for review upon request 4. Training should be based out of an airport located within proximity to the Richmond, VA metro area.
