4.1.1. Project Scope The purpose of this document is to outline the scope of work for the procurement of Preschool Social and Emotional Learning Classroom Training and Materials for the District. The training program will be designed to provide educators with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement evidence-based SEL practices in the classroom. The District is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive SEL Classroom Training for teachers and staff members. The training program should combine theoretical knowledge with practical strategies for promoting SEL competencies among students. The objective is to enhance students' social and emotional well-being, improve their academic performance, and create a positive and inclusive learning and school environment. 4.1.2. Detailed Specifications A. The training program must align with the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning's (CASEL) framework for social-emotional learning (SEL). The vendor must demonstrate familiarity with CASEL's five core competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. B. The training must align with the VDOE Early Learning and Development Standards for preschool. C. The program should include a variety of instructional methods, such as presentations, group discussions, role-plays, and case studies. It should be interactive and engaging to ensure active participation from attendees. D. The training materials provided by the vendor should be evidence-based and grounded in research. They should reflect current best practices in the field of SEL and incorporate the latest developments and trends. E. The vendor should have experienced and knowledgeable trainers who can deliver the training sessions effectively. Trainers should have expertise in SEL and be able to facilitate meaningful discussions and activities that promote understanding and skill development. F. The training program should be tailored to meet the developmental needs of our preschool CPI program and include specific strategies and techniques for implementing SEL in preschool and elementary school settings. G. The vendor should provide pre-training and post-training assessments to measure participants' knowledge and skills growth. The assessments should be designed to evaluate the effectiveness of the training and provide feedback for continuous improvement. H. The vendor should offer ongoing support and follow-up resources to ensure successful implementation of SEL practices in the classroom. These resources can include online platforms, video tutorials, printed materials, and access to additional training modules.
