I. Pool Opening: - The Contractor shall complete the work within 30 days prior to the Monday prior to Memorial Day, each season. - Remove, clean and store pool cover and diving board. - Clean and prepare all gutters, skimmers, drains, ladders, plugs. Gauges, and other important components of the system. - Patch and repair plaster in any areas identified as a concern. - Add water to desired height. - Test water quality: Chlorine, pH, Cyanuric Acid, Total Alkalinity Level. - Clean and inspect the pool deck: pressure wash if needed. - Skim pool water surface and thoroughly vacuum pool bottom after pool is full. - Inspect pumps and gutters monthly for any issues. - Prepare all facilities to pass County and Health Department inspections to endure all aquatic facilities are open and functional by the Monday prior to opening day (Memorial Day Weekend). - The company shall join the County in a complete inspection of both pool areas with Health Department. - Inspect the integrity of both pools for any cracks or damage. Document and notify the County Contact before proceeding with any repairs or continuing the opening procedures of the pool. The County Contact must give approval before proceeding. - Reconnect all circulation and filtration equipment. - Reconnect all appropriate chemical feeders as needed for proper water balance. - Cooperate with all County Staff and contractors in readying both pools and pump/chemical house for operation. II. Pool Closing: - The Contractor shall perform no later than 30 days after pool season closure ( - Pump out pool water to the correct level. - Drain pump and hair/lint strainer. - Open all valves to appropriate settings. - Disconnect and drain all circulation and filtration equipment. - Disconnect, clean and drain all chemical feeders and lines. - Remove and prepare for storage: skimmer parts, all the moveable ladders, poles/railing, stand chairs, and diving board. - Prepare chemical injection system for storage. - Contractor shall supply winterization chemicals to poos to slow the growth of algae. - Prepare pools and pool plumbing lines for freeze protection. - Complete walk-through inspection with Warren County Parks and Recreation representative. - Inspect both pools for any broken or malfunctioning equipment, and cracks to pools. Document and notify County Contact of any necessary repairs or replacements for the following season. - Cooperate with any County Staff or Contractors in closing both pools and the chemical/pump house for the winter season. - Clean (if necessary) and install pool cover. III. MONTHLY MAINTENANCE SERVICES: - The Contractor shall perform once a month and by special request. - Check the water level and adjust accordingly. - Backwash sand filters (if necessary). - Test water quality each time and adjust chemicals as necessary to maintain Virginia Department of Health standards. - Post water quality test results each time the service is rendered per the Code of Virginia Section 32.1-248 and the Virginia Department of Health Section 12VAC 5-462.280. - Check all operating equipment and report any broken or hazardous conditions or equipment. Repair or reported items must be approved by the designated Warren County Parks and Recreation representative. - Inspect all chemical feeding equipment and replace parts (if necessary and must have approval from the Warren County Parks and Recreation Representative before commencing parts placement). - Inspect motor, pump, and volute for leaks and/or varied sounds. - Patch and repair plaster in any areas identified as a concern. - After any service, report shall be submitted in writing to the designated Warren County Parks and Recreation Representative.
