1. Examine, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide the necessary veterinary, dental and health care needs of the canine (K-9) including emergency veterinary services as needed on a 24-hour per day basis. Contractor will be required to prescribe, dispense, and administer prescription medication to include dog food and provide for 24-hour/7 days a week emergency veterinary telephone consultation to K-9 handlers. 2. Provide basic head-to-toe physicals for newly purchased and in-service K-9’s, to assess K-9 overall fitness for duty. This includes but is not limited to blood tests, fecal parasite exams, x-rays and other tests in accordance with Veterinary standards. 3. Maintain complete veterinary history on K-9s including treatments, evaluation and prescriptions. Veterinary records stay at the Veterinary Clinic, but shall be accessible on request by the VADOC handlers.
