The Virginia Department of Transportation herein referred to as “VDOT” is soliciting bids from qualified firms to perform performance-based, planned by route brush cutting, tree pruning services, limited tree removal services, application of herbicide to deciduous cut stumps in accordance of the performance specifications herein, within the Salem District along highway rights-of-way within Bedford, Botetourt, Carroll, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick, Pulaski, and Roanoke counties. Awards will be made on a Lot Total Basis. Lot 1 (Secondary routes); Lot 2 (Two Lane Primary routes); Lot 3 (Four Lane Primary routes); The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, equipment, fuel, and traffic control, to include all equipment and flaggers as required per the most recent version of the 2011 Virginia Work Area Protection Manual (VWAPM) Revision 2.1: November 2020, or latest edition (VWAPM) and any other incidentals necessary to meet the requirements stated within. The work shall consist of tree pruning, small tree removal, brush removal, limited tree removal and herbicide application to stumps and disposal of all generated debris, for the purpose of enhancing safety for the public. Attachment I identifies the locations and work limits where services shall be performed. The Contractor shall be capable of commencing work within ten (10) calendar days of award of this IFB. On each succeeding call the Contractor shall begin work within forty-eight hours (48) and shall work consistently until released from that event, unless a different reporting time is mutually agreed upon.
