The Contractor shall begin work on or after July 1, 2025. Contractor shall order materials after the award of the contract and provide proof of confirmed delivery date for materials to be acquired for the project, within ten (10) business days unless otherwise agreed upon by the VDOT Contract Administrator. The Contractor shall provide a continuous operation once they commence the work. The Contractor shall advise the VDOT Contract Administrator at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the work. The Contractor shall not begin work until the location and extent of work has been verified and approved by the Contract Administrator. All work shall be performed in compliance with the applicable parts of the VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications 2020 or latest edition, including but not limited to: Section 302 – Drainage Structures, Section 232 – Pipe and Pipe Arches, Section 249 – Flowable Backfill, Section 217 – Hydraulic Cement Concrete, Section 218 – Hydraulic Cement Mortar and Grout, Section 303 – Earthwork, Section 512 – Maintaining Traffic, Section 107.16 – Environmental Stipulations. The Contractor’s equipment shall meet Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and Virginia Occupational Safety & Health (VOSH) standards. Additionally, the Contractor shall remain in compliance with all OSHA and VOSH personnel, equipment, and safety regulations. All work shall be performed in compliance with the Virginia Department of Environmental procedures and any revisions issued during the term of the contract. All work shall be performed as described below. • Route 608 – Whitehouse Road – Bedford County – GPS: 37.134847, -79.590180 o Install all required E&S measures o This location has an existing 60”x100’ CMP that has failed at the first 20’ joint on the inlet side. A minimum of a 54” liner, 0.500” minimal wall thickness, shall be used to jack into the existing 60” host pipe, grouting the annular space between the host pipe and steel liner. o Grout the inlet of new steel casing to the existing Rock Headwall o Slope stabilization shall be completed once the liner has been successfully installed. A mix of Class 1 and A1 RipRap shall be used to stabilize the slope on the inlet side of the pipe. o Outlet protection using A1 RipRap will be installed downstream up to 20’x20’ o Seed and Straw Mulch all disturbed areas to existing conditions
