Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation Department is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide floor resurfacing, striping and vinyl install services for recreation center gymnasiums, racquetball courts, group fitness rooms, cardio rooms, weight rooms, and dance studios. These locations are throughout various areas of the City of Virginia Beach. It should be expressly understood by the bidder that the intent of this contract is to supply all necessary services and materials relating to the resurfacing, refinishing, and striping of the varying athletic rooms at Bayside, Great Neck, Princess Anne, Williams Farm, Bow Creek, Seatack and Kempsville recreation centers. The resulting contract shall provide services (when requested) for indoor athletic, recreational, or court floor surfacing. This scope generally involves screen disking, mopping, applying at least 2 coats of water base Bona SuperSport MVP finish or approved substitute equivalent, remove & replace cracked wood blocks (as needed), fill and sand any wood blocks with divots (as needed), laying or repairing vinyl plank/tile, laying athletic rubber tile, applying vinyl floor trim molding, and produce or repaint court striping (as needed or requested). The City of Virginia Beach will typically refinish wood product floors will refinish every room biennially in different rotations in coordination with the other yearly maintenance per year for the awarded contractor under the resulting contract(s) or as conditions require. Striping will be as needed or requested.
