1. Mill the asphalt surface on existing parking lot to a depth of approximately 2 inches and remove and properly dispose of excess material. 2. Complete any grading required for positive drainage away from the buildings. 3. Clean and prepare surfaces to be overlaid and apply tack coat. 4. Overlay the areas with VDOT-approved Job Mix SM-9.5A or SM 9-5 BMD asphalt compacted to an average thickness of 2 inches. Where necessary, overlay with additional asphalt to ensure smooth, level surface and transition to other paving areas. No tapering of asphalt anywhere. 5. Butt joints at concrete and finish edges square. 6. Ensure that any drains, poles, or other fixtures in the area are protected during the performance of this work. 7. Clean and prepare the paving for restriping all parking areas to include line striping replacement in accordance with VDOT direction.
