A. Painting Services 1. The Contractor shall be capable of providing a variety of painting services which will include: • Oil-based • Electrostatic • Power Coating 2. The Contractor shall be responsible for supplying all paint and related materials deemed necessary to complete each and every project; however, TCC reserves the right to provide paint to the Contractor when TCC deems it necessary. 3. The Contractor shall perform various painting functions including: applying paint (enamel or latex paints, stains, varnishes, lacquers, epoxies, and other products) to interior ceiling, walls, floors, doors, windows, trim, wood and metal casework, piping, conduit and ductwork; applying paint to exterior surfaces including roofs, house components and trim; and applying paint to crosswalks, curbs, parking lots and miscellaneous metal, wood concrete and masonry items. 4. The Contractor shall be responsible for all necessary surface preparation including scraping, sanding, spackling, caulking, puttying and removal of wallpaper. • This work shall also include the protection of all surface areas, equipment, fixtures, hardware and similar items that may come in contact with paint during this work. 5. The Contractor shall be responsible for cleaning up daily all work areas and removing their tools and equipment from the job site. 6. The Contractor should start a project within a minimum of seventy-two (72) hours of notification. If a longer lead time is required by Tidewater Community College (TCC), the contractor shall provide TCC with a work schedule for each project. The starting date and work schedule shall be adhered to and the work shall continue uninterrupted from the start date until the project is completed, except for normal interruptions for other work or other uncontrollable circumstances as determined by TCC. 7. All work the Contractor performs shall be top commercial quality work performed according to the standards of the industry and to the complete satisfaction of TCC. 8. Painting services shall be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and specific instructions provided by TCC for each project. 9. Dimensions provided to the Contractor shall be field verified by the Contractor before commencing with the work. Discrepancies will be resolved by TCC before beginning with the work. 10. The Contractor shall ensure that the personnel it uses for the performance of this work are both properly trained and qualified.
