Specifications include, but are not limited to: i. Individual Performance Requirements The OMD shall provide development, guidance, oversight, and operation of all pre-hospital EMS programs within the County. Items included: 1. Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) 2. Emergency Response 3. On-Scene Patient Care 4. Treatment, Transport, and Transfer of Patient Care 5. Patient Care Reporting and Documentation 6. CoAEMSP Accreditation 7. BLS Accreditation Program 8. BLS and ALS Education Programs (initial and continuing education and remediation as necessary). 9. Other related duties specifically approved and associated with the delivery of Emergency Medical Services by Prince William County departments and/or agencies. 10. The OMD shall serve as the County Fire & Rescue System liaison with local and regional OMD's with system issues or concerns. 11. The OMD may provide technical assistance, as needed, to Regional Medical Directors, Operational Medical Directors (OMDs), and EMS Physician Course Directors. 12. The OMD will have the ability to be reached by telephone, or electronic device. Upon being contacted by PWCFRS staff, the OMD shall be in communication with staff within 6 hours of being sent notification. 13. The OMD shall review and render an opinion on all positions taken by the OEMS, EMS Advisory Board, and its committees relating to medical issues. 14. The OMD shall interact with local, regional, and state EMS authorities to ensure the County standards, needs, and requirements are met, and the utilization of resources is optimal. 15. The OMD shall maintain liaison with the medical community including, local, regional, and statewide medical organizations, hospitals, emergency departments, physicians, prehospital providers, and nurses. 16. The OMD shall assist with the development, evaluation, and participation as needed, in all levels of EMS training classes held by the PWC Public Safety Training Academy. 17. The OMD shall assist EMS Training Personnel as required with the completion of the CoAEMSP accreditation. The OMD shall assist County EMS training staff to ensure program compliance while maintaining quality program development and delivery. 18. The OMD shall provide oversight, identify requirements, and produce documentation in accordance with Virginia Department of Health OEMS guidelines, rules, and regulations in order to provide endorsement of EMS personnel.
