A. Podiatry Services: The Contractor agrees to provide, as needed, consultation and patient care in the specialty of Podiatry. Services include diagnostic examinations; recommending or performing specialized diagnostic tests or procedures; recommending, formulating or, when requested by the Agency, carrying out courses of treatment which may include surgical procedures within the Contractor's professional capabilities and any regulatory limitations pertinent to the specialty. 1. Typical services include, but are not limited to the following: Write prescriptions, order medications, lab work, X-rays, and other diagnostic tests. Authorize standing orders for the administration of medications and treatments. Treatment of fissured heels. Treatment of mycotic lesions on feet or toes. Trimming toenails. Debridement of corns and callouses on feet or toes. Removal of uncomplicated in-grown toenails. Application of preventative measures for Diabetic Foot. Provide continuous education to staff as required and mutually agreed. Provide telephone consultation and reports to Agency physicians as required. Participate in quality assurance activities related to Podiatry services rendered. Provide continuous education to staff as required and mutually agreed.
