Synopsis:
This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. This notice is for MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY, and in no way obligates the United States Government to issue a solicitation or otherwise make a contract award. The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is seeking eligible performers who are qualified to conduct and accomplish the requirements specified in this RFI.
Background:
This RFI is to locate eligible local vendors to remove and dispose of all designated surplus furniture from the agency's warehouse in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. The Contractor is responsible for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. The Contractor shall maintain appropriate insurance coverage, including general liability and workers' compensation.
General Requirements:
The storage space is approximately 3500 square feet. The furniture consists primarily of Knoll Morrison and Knoll Dividends cubicle components and private office furniture not limited to, cubical panels, work surfaces, chairs, overheads, shelves, filing cabinets, electrical parts, accessories and mobile PED’s.
Location: GSA warehouse within 5 miles of Fort Belvoir, VA.
Scope:
- Inventory: Conduct a comprehensive inventory of all furniture items designated for disposal.
- Removal: Carefully dismantle and remove all designated furniture from the warehouse. The Contractor shall be responsible for protecting the warehouse facility and surrounding areas from damage during the removal process.
- Disposal: Dispose of all removed furniture in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Contractor shall provide documentation verifying the disposal method used for all items.
- Site Cleanup: Thoroughly clean the warehouse area after furniture removal, leaving it free of debris and in a broom-swept condition.
- Security: The Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining the security of the warehouse and its contents during the performance of this contract.
- Reporting: Provide a final report detailing the inventory of items removed, the disposal methods used, and where items were disposed.
Response Requirements:
The U.S. Government invites sources to respond to this RFI that have the capability to meet these parameters and would have an interest to bid on a requirement of similar objectives.
Any and all information submitted in response to this notice is strictly voluntary and in no way obligates the U.S. Government to a monetary compensation or otherwise to make a contract award. The U.S. Government will not return any submitted data and information. The responder may solicit input on technical aspects of the responses from non-government consultants/experts bound by appropriate non-disclosure requirements.
Submission Instructions:
Responses shall be limited to five (5) 8x11 pages via email and shall:
- Confirm source’s ability (capability statement) and interest to meet the requirements
- Past performance in providing these types of services within the last 3 years.
- Source’s socio-economic categories

However, responses to this notice will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation which may be published in the future.
