The purpose of this Quick Quote is to solicit bids to obtain a contractor to provide all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, supplies, and materials needed to restore appearance of 34 sets of gates at 21 locations located along the 57-mile New River Trail State Park Trail. Gates located from Galax and Fries, Virginia to Pulaski, Virginia. Main Park offices located at 116 Orphanage Drive, Max Meadows, Virginia, and Southern Park Office located at 451 Cliffview Road Galax, Virginia 24333 approximately 30 miles apart. II. SCOPE OF WORK/DESCRIPTION OF ITEMS (SPECIFICATIONS): A. General Requirements: 1. Attendance of a Mandatory Site Visit is required for bidding. Site Visits can be coordinated with Eric Testerman prior to visit at 276-236-8889 or 276-235-2659 Southern Portion of gates, TJ Nolen 276-613-3860 for Northern portion of gates. 2. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to verify any information, measurements and obtain any clarifications prior to submitting a bid response. DCR is not liable for any errors or misinterpretations made by the Contractor in response to this solicitation. 3. Submit all required documents. 4. Work Dates and Time: The work must be scheduled no later than seven (7) calendar days after receipt of award purchase order. Completion of work must be within the scheduled timeframes. Start date and time to be coordinated with each site contact. 5. All services shall be performed, unless mutually agreed upon by the Contractor and the Park Representative, during normal business hours, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. TO 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, except for State & Federal Holidays. Requests to work on Saturdays and Sundays shall be approved by the park contact prior to start date. B. Prepare, Prime and Paint metal gates, Color (Safety Yellow-approved by park staff) 1. The Contractor shall remove or protect items which are not scheduled to be primed and painted including, but not limited to; ground surfaces, gate pins and locks returning them to original condition after the paint has dried. 2. Gates must be opened to complete painting, but prior to leaving work area, contractor needs to close and secure gates prior to moving to next work site. 4. The Contractor shall not apply primer or paint when the surface to be painted or surrounding air temperature is less than 50 degrees Fahrenheit. 5. The Contractor shall apply a minimum of one coat of primer and one coat of paint. 6. The Contractor shall use Kem Kromik Metal primer (or approved equivalent) and Industrial Urethane acrylic latex or enamel oil base topcoat compatible with primer. Match existing color (Safety Yellow) approved by park staff.
