The library operations and materials will move from the current location at 443 W. Washington Street, Suffolk, VA 23434, to the new location at 309 W. Washington Street, Suffolk, VA 23434. The distance is approximately 0.3 miles between locations. The move is to take place in one phase on the date to be set by Library Representative according to a schedule agreed upon by the library and the successful proponent and will be coordinated with any remaining activities of the general contractor or other trades. The primary work involves moving a collection of approximately 70,000 books, audio books, kits (in tote bags), magazines, etc. from the shelves to new shelves. Office supplies and staff desk items (boxed by library staff). Unique and oddly shaped items (tents, kiosk, acrylic flyer display units, etc.) and possibly two refrigerators. New furnishings and equipment have been purchased for the new location therefore no furniture, shelves, or technology will be needing relocation
