Specifications include, but are not limited to: Midlothian Library is being rebuilt with a scheduled reopening planned for winter 2023/24. In the entrance foyer, a space is reserved on the right-hand wall to install a letterbox drop-off. This letterbox drop-off is targeted to be an AMH-style drop-off. The reverse side of this wall is not a dedicated AMH space but a corner of the staff workroom, so minimum operating noise is important. The AHM needs to be able to accept the wide variation of the items provided by the library, including books, DVD, CD, Boardbooks, etc. The AMH will need to identify both RFiD and barcode-tagged items. As part of the AMH configuration, a staff induction station is required to allow items dropped off at the circulation desk & outdoor book drop to be processed through the AMH. Due to the shared space, a configuration that maximizes the staff working space is required. This is envisioned by running the AMH modules along the walls of the space and not directly out into the room taking up vital staff workspace. Feeding of items into the letterbox drop-off will be one at a time. Exterior drop boxes will handle afterhours returned and are not a part of the project. This AMH will focus on an interior return slot only.
