Middletown Elementary School Expansion Project: This project involves a 20,805 Net SF expansion to the existing 68,572 NET SF school, a 1,042 Net SF expansion to the existing kitchen, and select renovations to the existing kitchen, gymnasium, and cafeteria platform area. The main expansion consists of a Commons area and Gymnasium that will serve both the school and public, an enclosed courtyard with a playground area between the gymnasium and classroom wings, and a two (2) story Classroom Wing that includes (5) Kindergarten classrooms, (5) First grade classrooms, (1) Special Education classroom, and (1) Teacher Planning classroom. The Kitchen expansion consists of removing the existing staff room and vestibule and adding additional kitchen space, and replacing most of the existing equipment, including those in the storage, preparation, cooking, and serving areas.
