The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT"), an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide on call debris cleanup and removal services on interstate, primary and secondary roads on an "as needed" basis for the Culpeper District; Debris shall be removed from the shoulders, ditches, slopes, medians and any other designated area of the right of way. Fallen trees or limbs which extend into the right of way from non- right of way areas shall be cut at a point where it enters the right of way and only the material on the right of way removed. This shall include uprooted and leaning trees. In order to be removed, debris may need to be re-cut and/or moved from its existing location. Uprooted trees still attached to the roots shall have the stem cut to leave a stump at a level that is flush to the existing grade. Hazardous limbs are considered debris and are defined as damaged, broken and/or detached limbs greater than 3 inches in diameter, measured at the point of break, and still reside in the tree and hang over any part of the right of way. These limbs shall be removed at any height and all cost associated in the removal including bucket truck usage shall be included in the per cubic yard price. All pruning cuts shall be made in accordance with the ANSI A-300 pruning standards.
