1. Demolish and remove the existing one (1) 40-MGD pump, two (2) 55-MGD pumps, and one (1) 70-MGD pump and replace with six (6) new vertical centrifugal pumps. There are two existing channels located on the east and west side of the Main Pumping Station that feed the pumps. One (1) new 50-MGD pump and two (2) new 75-MGD pumps will be installed on each channel. 2. Operation of the Main Pumping Station after installation of the six (6) new pumps are as follows: one channel will be in operation, one (1) 50-MGD pump, and two (2) 75-MGD pumps per channel. The second channel will be in standby. The Supplemental Pumping Station has two (2) 30-MGD pumps and will be in operation as needed to supplement additional flow from the Main Pumping Station. 3. The existing 48” suction piping, 30”, 42”, and 48” discharge piping, and 48” motor operated butterfly valves will be demolished. 4. New 30” and 48” suction piping, 30”, 36”, and 48” discharge piping, six (6) 30” knife gate valves, two (2) 36” swing check valves, four (4) 48” swing check valves, two (2) 36” motor operated plug valves, and four (4) 48” motor operated plug valves to be installed. 5. A new seal water system will be provided for the new pumps. The seal water system will connect to existing potable water supply piping in Main Pumping Station. No additional water service lines will be constructed as part of this upgrade (including both potable and plant water). The new seal water system will be installed on the top floor of Main Pumping Station.
