LCS is interested in securing a single comprehensive private service provider, or multiple service providers if necessary, to provide the following services IN-PERSON ONLY when employed staff are absent on a short or long-term basis or have staffing vacancies. 1. WIDA screening and testing for EL identification and placement per LCS policy, state, and federal guidelines 2. Direct EL instruction for identified EL students (grades K-12) 3. Individual and group English language development (ELD) and content-class integrated (CCI) support 4. Development and implementation of a comprehensive, WIDA and SOL standardsaligned EL program 5. Knowledge of EL SOL program participation guidelines and the ability to implement approved SOL accommodations 6. Progress monitoring and language proficiency documentation 7. Support for classroom teachers of ELs with EL instructional strategies 8. Implementation of appropriate and effective EL modifications with training for EL students and educators of ELs 9. Parent/family engagement utilizing English language development strategies 10. Participation in student support team meetings as requested 11. Serve in building-level roles/capacities including but not limited recess, hall, bus, cafeteria, and other school-related duties a. *Spanish/English bilingual teachers with some interpreter and translation training are preferred but not required. 12. Trained and certified interpreters and translators familiar with educational and community language services who are knowledgeable of VDOE and LCS’ policies and procedures 13. Trained EL instructional assistants to support EL students in learning and EL families with educational needs (completing paperwork, communicating with school staff, understanding the school system, etc.)
