Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Contractor shall furnish experienced personnel, directly employed by the contractor to perform all work under the contract resulting from this Quick Quote. 2. The lawn care/grounds maintenance and all supplies required to perform the service (supplies supplied at contractor’s cost) shall be included in the Monthly Charge. Snow and Ice removal and Tree Damage Removal shall be billed separately by the hour. Ice melt material shall be supplied by VIB as needed. 3. All equipment must be maintained in good operating condition and be of sufficient quantities to adequately perform all services, and must be available at the time of service. 4. Landscaped areas, lawns, shrubs, and any other decorative vegetation shall be maintained in a manner that presents a well-groomed appearance, promotes survival and uniformity. 5. All clippings, litter, leaves, and other like items shall be removed from the property and properly disposed of off-site. 6. The Contractor shall remove snow and ice as described in section C: Snow and Ice Removal. B. LAWN CARE AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE SERVICES 1. Mowing: All turf areas shall be mowed every seven (7) days during peak season which is deemed to be April 15th and September 1st. Mowing shall occur on an as-needed basis during non-peak seasons. Grass shall be cut when it is taller than 4.5” The optimum height of the grass shall be between 2.5” and 3.5”. It is required that trash or litter which is on the grounds shall be picked up and removed by contractor staff prior to cutting the grass. The Contractor shall endeavor to avoid having grass clippings fall outside the grassed area (i.e. on sidewalks, parking lots, parked vehicles, or the building/windows); grass clippings which fall outside of the grassed area shall be blown back onto the lawn. 2. Trimming: a. Any grass that cannot be cut with a mower shall be trimmed with a string trimmer after each cut. The Contractor shall edge/trim so that there is no encroachment of vegetation for more than one (1) inches onto any bed, curb, or sidewalk. b. Areas around the building and any other structure(s) or item(s) which are part of the VIB’s property (e.g. sheds, HVAC equipment, and fencing) shall be edged and/or trimmed with line trimer to maintain the appropriate grass height specified below. 3. Core Aeration: All turf shall be core aerated in the month of October. To coincide with the feeding and seeding of the grass. 4. Leaves: Leaves are to be removed from the premises during the spring (March to April) and during the fall (September to October) and shall be disposed of properly off VIB grounds. 5. Flower Beds: Post emergent herbicide shall be applied monthly between April 15th and Sept 1st of the contact year. If necessary, the flower beds shall be treated until the weeds are eliminated. 6. Clipping: Shrubs, bushes and trees shall be trimmed twice annually, once during spring (March to April) and again during the fall (September to October). Clippings shall be removed from VIB property. The curbs, sidewalks, and paved areas shall be blown clean after each cut. Tree limbs shall be removed as necessary from trees and trees shall be maintained to have a healthy appearance. Trees damaged by storms or other means shall be removed from VIB property and shall be invoiced at the hourly rate for tree trimming and pruning services. 7. Mulch: Flower beds and tree spots shall be mulched annually between Mach 15th and April 30th using adequate mulch to cover bare ground, plant bases and roots and provide an attractive appearance. 8. Seeding and Lime Application a. Tall turf type fescue blend seed shall be applied at a rate of 100 pounds per acre once a year at the time of aeration. b. Lime shall be applied in amounts dependent on PH levels, also at the time of aeration.
