The purpose of the ITB is to solicit bids to establish a contract for the provision of moving services on an on-call, as needed basis. No amount of work is guaranteed under this contract. Moving services may include, but are not limited to: files, records, all types of office furniture, desks, computers, fax machines and other electronic items, pictures, appliances, dismantling, moving, and erecting wall panels and cubicles as necessary, file cabinets of various sizes, bookcases, glass items including table tops, plans cabinets, secure records as necessary, audio-visual equipment, televisions, live plants, specialized equipment as necessary, and any other items typically found within an office setting. Additionally, moving of industrial components and equipment may be included in this contract. The mover will provide all boxes, packaging supplies, materials, labor, equipment tools and vehicles to pack, move and unpack all items for each scheduled move. The mover may be required to provide boxes and packing supplies to the City prior to any scheduled move so items can be pre-packed by City personnel. Additionally, the mover must have the capability to disassemble and reassemble any furniture, cubicles, and wall panels as necessary following disconnection of electric power by the City. The moves may be as small as 1 to 5 individuals or can be as large as entire departments depending on the City’s need for each specific move. Moves may be required within a building or from an origin building to a destination building. Moves may be accomplished through the use of elevators where available but there are buildings within the City that have no elevators and stairs are the only access to upper floors. Each move will have both an origin and destination as identified by the City. A walk through of both the origin and destination locations shall be held prior to each move that is scheduled by the City. Each move shall require a site visit to determine the cost for that particular move and a lump sum bid shall be inclusive of all of the components listed for each of the identified moves. Each move shall have a start date as agreed to by both parties. All moves shall be scheduled and take place so as to minimize the disruption to the affected office and the public who access the office.
