Specifications include, but are not limited to: IRRIGATION SYSTEM SPRING START-UP, WINTERIZATION, AND REGULAR PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE, INSPECTION, AND TESTING SERVICES: 1. The Contractor(s) shall provide Spring Start Up services, Winterization services, tests, inspections, repairs, and replacement services required to maintain the irrigation systems in proper operating condition at the prices listed in eVA.; 2. The Contractor(s) shall be responsible for all inspections, examinations, tests, and maintenance of the irrigation system components to ensure proper equipment operation.; 3. Any components of the irrigation systems that are found to need repair or replacement during the Spring Start Up or Winterization services, shall immediately be brought to the attention of the Campus Facility Manager or designated representative.; 1. Spring Start Up shall include the following procedures that shall be performed in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications for each system: a. Check the system for obvious external damage and missing heads.; b. Turn on water meter.; c. Fill the system and check for breaks/leaks, proper operation, and water distribution.; d. Remove, clean, and replace clogged and/or buried heads.; e. Ensure proper operation of pumps, backflow prevention devices, controllers, valves, electrical wiring, sprinklers, irrigation lines, touch screens, and other system components.; f. Recalibrate and adjust all aspects of each system.; g. Each head and/or quick coupling shall be tested for proper operation.; h. Perform a static pressure test of mainlines and lateral pipes.; i. All electrical components shall be powered up, inspected, and tested for proper operation; 1. Winterization shall include the following procedures that shall be performed in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications for each system: a. Shut off water supply and drain system.; b. Blow out water using appropriate size air compressor. All water shall be removed from the lines.; c. Reseal piping to prevent infiltration of ground water.
