Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, fuel, supplies, tools, transportation, qualified, experienced operator(s), and supervision necessary to perform Snow Removal Operations to remove snow, ice and other frozen precipitation on the routes described in the table above, including all entrance and exit ramps, intersections and cross-overs, etc., as directed by the VDOT Contract Administrator or designee. Services included in this contract will be required on an on-call as needed basis, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Payment for services will be at an Operational Rate. 1. Operational Rate: Refers to a flat rate paid during active winter operations for any time a Contractor is requested and reports to work. Includes active engagement (“Push Time”) as well as time when mobilized, but not actively participating (“Standby Time”). The Operational Rate shall include the cost for vehicles, equipment, miscellaneous equipment, operators, fuel, supplies, tools, chains, and any other equipment or incidentals needed to perform the contracted services. 2. All Trucks shall have owner provided plows, saddle tanks (except 1 tons), and chemical spreaders as detailed herein. VDOT will provide AVL on all DMV licensed equipment. 3. A Contractor supplied shift Supervisor with 4X4 vehicle shall be supplied at Contractors expense for regular operations only. This cost should be included in bid prices as no separate costs shall be billable, see G.2 page 8.
