The Contractor shall furnish equipment with experienced operators, labor, transportation, tools, materials, supplies, supervision, incidentals and traffic control as necessary to perform asphalt patching (paving) operations on primary and secondary systems. Pavement patching operations shall be limited to 500 feet in length. This will also include small/miscellaneous paving and patching projects at VDOT facilities within this same area. This work may be requested to meet the following needs: 1. Unplanned damage to the roadway due to sinkholes 2. Accidents where contaminants (diesel, kerosene, gasoline, motor oil, etc) are spilled which destroys the integrity of the asphalt pavement (at times this requires coordination with other governmental entities, i.e. fire department, HAZMAT, etc.) 3. Accidents where motor vehicles mar the surface of the asphalt (ex. dents, dentures, ruts, etc. are put into the asphalt) creating possible safety issues 4. Vehicle fires which melt the asphalt pavement 5. Small incidental paving projects (i.e. bridge re-decking/approach settlement) 6. Unplanned spot leveling of roads 7. Correcting pavement settlements at bridge approaches and box culverts 8. Paving Operations for the repair of winter breakup damage
