This stream restoration project involves the repair and enhancement of the main channel of Gulf Branch and three of its tributaries with the implementation of Natural channel Design and stream Bank Stabilization and Regenerative Stormwater Conveyance. The stream restoration will take place in Gulf Branch Nature Center, Old Glebe and Broyhill Park. Restoration of the Gulf Branch channel begins approximately 1,000 linear feet (LF) upstream of the Military Road culverts and will end in correspondence with the Military Road Culvert Replacement project. The Stream Restoration includes the use of Reinforced Bed Mix, Rock and Log Grade Control Structures, Outfall Repair, Regenerative Stormwater Conveyance and Riparian Buffer Vegetation Planting. The total disturbed area will be 147,762 SF (3.39 acres). The whole stabilization will take place on Arlington County property
